What Our Clients are Saying...
Breach of Contract
When people enter into a contract they intend to do what they have promised to do. For example, when a builder contracts with you to build your home, in most cases, that builder intends to build that home in a good and workmanlike manner in exchange for your payment. However there are those times when a party to a contract breaks a promise or fails to do something that they said they would. This is often referred to as a breach of contract.
The Bettersworth Law firm has been assisting parties with contract disputes for several years. We have successfully represented clients in contract disputes involving residential construction projects, commercial construction projects, partnerships and real estate transactions. We represent both businesses and individual consumers which gives us the ability to look at a case from both perspectives.
There are many different types of remedies that a client can recover in a breach of contract case. In some cases, the court may order what is called specific performance. In other words, the Court will order the breaching party to do what they failed to do. In other cases, the court may order monetary or economic damages. For example, if a contractor fails to properly install a roof and you are required to have another contractor come in and fix it, the Court may order that the contractor reimburse you for the cost to repair the roof.
Breach of contract cases can be very complex and will often include related causes of action such as deceptive trade practices, fraud, negligence, etc. The Bettersworth Law firm can help you sort through your breach of contract case and decide the path that is best for you. More often than not, breach of contract cases end up in litigation, so it is imperative that you retain the services of a firm who is not afraid to take your case into the court room.
