Recent Judgments/Settlements

Medical Mal-Practice

  • Award/Settlement:  $3,400,000.00 - Pregnant mother of two went in for a cesarean section delivery.  Following the delivery, mother suffered significant blood loss that went untreated.  As a result, the mother coded and suffered a severe brain injury.  
  • Award/Settlement:  $220,000.00 – The Plaintiff’s eye in this case was injured while undergoing surgery.  The injury caused her to lose a portion of her vision and undergo corrective surgery.

Auto Injury

  • Award/Settlement: $300,000.00  - The Plaintiff in this case was struck by a commercial vehicle causing severe internal injuries.  Surgical intervention was required.
  • Award/Settlement: $120,000.00 – The Plaintiff in this case was struck while at a stop sign and sustained severe injuries to his back.  Surgical intervention was required.  Policy limits were secured.
  • Award/Settlement: $86,500.00 – The Plaintiff in this case was struck from behind while sitting at a stop light.  While the injuries did not require surgical intervention, physical therapy and additional treatment was required. 
  • Award/Settlement: $75,000.00 – The Plaintiff in this case was struck in an intersection and taken to the hospital.  Her injuries were severe, but no surgical intervention was required.

Dog Bite

  • Award/Settlement: Confidential – The Plaintiff in this case was walking his dog in his neighborhood.  A dog attacked him and caused severe injuries.  The case settled for a significant amount.  The settlement documents require that the amount remain confidential. 

Bad Faith/Deceptive Trade

  • Award/Settlement: $123,947.04 – The Plaintiff in this case sued his builder for deceptive trade practices alleging that numerous misrepresentations were made regarding the builder’s ability and qualifications.
  • Award/Settlement: $74,000.00 -  The Plaintiff in this case was denied insurance benefits despite having properly secured a policy. 

Breach of Contract/Collections/Fraud

  • Award/Settlement: $320,779.02 – The Plaintiff in this case sued a competing company for tortuous interference with a contract.   
  • Award/Settlement: $207,350.12 – The Plaintiff in this case sued for breach of contract.  The Defendant failed to timely pay money owed in accordance with the terms of a promissory note. 
  • Award/Settlement: $51,950.89 – The Plaintiff in this case sued for breach of contract and tortuous interference with a contractual relationship.  An employee of the Plaintiff company went to work for another competitor and in the process of leaving, took several files that belonged to the Plaintiff.  
  • Award/Settlement: $47,247.40  - The Plaintiff in this case sued a company that incorrectly installed a room addition.  
  • Award/Settlement: $42,006.02 – The Plaintiff in this case was a subcontractor on a job.  The general contractor failed to pay for labor and materials provided.
