Seguin Truck Accident Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

Posted on April 02,2012 in Uncategorized

On March 27, 2012 a deadly accident occurred on Highway 46 at the intersection of Court Street in Seguin, Texas at approximately 10:15 pm. The man who died, David Terry Pieper, 66-years-old from New Braunfels, was driving a Ford Ranger pick-up truck when his vehicle crashed into another pick-up truck, a Ford F-250. The front of Mr. Pieper’s truck was completely mangled. Mr. Pieper was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other truck, Simon Gaitan Jr., 42-years-old, was life-flighted to University Hospital in San Antonio as his injuries appeared to be life threatening. Luckily, his condition quickly improved and he was released from University Hospital the next day. Gaitan owns a trucking company that is in the business of contract hauling. Gaitan’s father, who was a passenger in the second truck, was transported to nearby Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. The elderly man’s injuries have been reported as minor. In addition to the two trucks in the accident, two other vehicles were minimally involved. A truck that was passing by at the time of the accident was damaged by flying debris from the collision, and another vehicle clipped the Ford Ranger when trying to avoid colliding with the wreckage. The drivers of those vehicles were not injured. When a Texas truck accident causes injuries or death to another person, the negligent party who caused the accident is responsible for compensating the accident victims. Those who have been injured, or lost a loved one, in a Texas truck wreck should contact a top Seguin truck accident lawyer as soon as possible for advice.
