Numerous Texas Traffic Accidents Lead to Fatalities in March

Posted on April 19, 2017 in Uncategorized

Texas is known for its traffic congestion and dangerous roads. Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Lubbock, and Plano have the greatest number of dangerous intersections. Accidents across the state grow even more common when bad weather strikes. Early March of 2017 was no exception to the rule and multiple accidents throughout the state caused injuries and fatalities. If you were involved in a crash in Texas, contact a personal injury attorney for assistance. An experienced attorney can help you gain compensation for your injuries.

Deadly Traffic Accidents in Mid-March 2017

  • On March 11, a six-vehicle crash on I-35 led to the death of a four-year-old girl. The child was properly buckled into a child safety seat, yet the impact was too great. An RV collided with the Kia SUV carrying the child. The incident caused three other individuals to be hospitalized, but they are all expected to be okay. The death of a toddler in a car accident may lead to a wrongful death by her parents against the driver of the RV.
  • On March 12, a Texas woman and her male passenger died when her van was in an accident with a tractor trailer on Farm Road 1434 at U.S. 67. The van was traveling west when it was hit by the tractor-trailer moving north. The women died at the scene, though the passenger was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died approximately eight hours later. The accident is still under investigation and it is unknown who was at fault.
  • On March 14, a 22-year-old woman was killed in a drunk driving collision. According to initial reports, a Dodge Charger ran a red light moving north on Highway 151 Access Road. A Ford Fusion headed west on Hunt Lane collided with it. The driver of the Charger, a 22-year-old man, was arrested for intoxication manslaughter after it was found that he was inebriated at the time of the crash. Whether or not the driver is convicted of criminal charges, he may be liable for a civil wrongful death suit brought by the deceased woman’s estate.
