To our most valued customers,
This is an incredibly challenging time for our community and for the United States as a whole. We wanted to provide a brief update on the state of our firm and how we will conduct business while this pandemic is in effect. Be assured that the Bettersworth Law Firm is committed to doing what is best for the wellbeing of our clients and staff.
First, be assured that The Bettersworth Law Firm will continue operations and remain open. We will respond to emails and phone calls in the usual manner.
Second, in an effort to comply with the recommended Covid-19 protocol, we have updated our business practices for the time being to better focus on the health and safety of our staff and our clients. Beginning March 23, we will implement mandatory work from home for some of our staff members to minimize exposure. In addition, we will conduct all client meetings, depositions, and mediations digitally using Skype, Zoom, Facetime, etc. We recognize that this may cause some inconvenience in the interim but again, our goal is to protect our clients and our staff and adhere to the best practices as stipulated by our local and national leadership.
Third, we have been informed by the majority of Courts that they have suspended their operations until further notice. This means that all hearings and trials have been postponed. If you were scheduled to be in court prior to April 15th, be advised that your case will be rescheduled to a new date. We do not know at this time what will happen with settings that are scheduled to occur after April 15th. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update you as we receive additional information.
To ensure you receive informed, timely, and strategic customer services as the situation evolves:
- We will continue to meet daily to discuss the everchanging circumstances and make decisions for the wellness of our clients, staff and business operations.
- We will remain in close contact with state and local authorities so we can continuously and consistently update our policies and procedures.
- We will continue to disseminate relevant information to our clients and staff as it becomes available taking into consideration that you are being inundated with information and communications at this time.
As we manage these new working environments, we remain wholeheartedly committed to supporting and serving our clients. We remain confident in our ability to deliver our services without interruption today and in the future.
Please know we are grateful to work with you and know we will get through this challenging time by working together. Do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of assistance in any way.
To all opposing counsel, please do not hesitate to contact us directly regarding scheduled events. Be advised that, to protect our staff and our clients, unless otherwise agreed, all scheduled depositions and mediations will be rescheduled in order to accommodate the protocols outlined herein, i.e. video conferencing, Skype, Zoom, etc. We must all work together to ensure that appropriate measures are being taken to confront and defeat this virus. We recognize and appreciate the need to move cases forward and will continue our best efforts to do so. If you have an event scheduled with our office, please contact us immediately so that we may discuss the appropriate path forward.
Thank you for your continued trust and confidence.
